Houghton Lodge Wedding, Southampton, Hampshire Wedding Photographer
Anjali & Ewan
On a beautifully warm July day, I travelled to Houghton Lodge to photograph the wedding of Anjali and Ewan. After meeting them for their engagement shoot, I couldn’t wait to capture their Hampshire wedding. Anjali got ready at Houghton Lodge, in the gorgeous Hampshire countryside. We started by photographing the bridal party as they perfected their sage green saris and helped Anjali into her custom made white lace wedding sari. Once Anjali had slipped on her True Decadance shoes and her hair had been perfected by Kate Preston,we were ready to head to the church.
The couple were reunited at Ewan’s family church, a special place for them. In the beautiful St Mary’s, they exchanged vows in front of their families. The ceremony was filled with colour and warmth as the couple exchanged rings and smiles. The beaming guests showered the newlyweds in confetti and they climbed into their ‘Just Married’ Jaguar. As a wonderfully personal touch, traditional chai and canapés were then served in the walled garden at Houghton Lodge and well wishes were shared.
Later in the evening, a beautiful dinner was served in a marquee in the grounds, overlooking the river. After speeches, laughs and a few tears, the evening celebrations began!
I stole the couple away for a few sunset pictures before they joined their guests on the dance floor. The beautiful dresses, saris and colours made for some fabulous evening shots. Frivolities carried on well into the night, I snuck away and left the newly joined families to enjoy their evening.
It was a true pleasure to photograph this wonderful day. The beautiful personal touches and blend of both families heritage made for a unique wedding that couldn’t have better suited such a sweet couple. Anjali and Ewan, I know you will have the warmest future together. I wish you a very very happy marriage.
